Founded in 2012 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, RADICAL DESIGN has established itself as a premier scenography company in the Caribbean, specializing in high-impact solutions for entertainment, shows, and events. Our expertise spans a diverse array of offerings, including scenography, set props, set design,  costume mascots, speciality decorations, and  monumental sculptures.

We take pride in delivering unforgettable experiences, collaborating with a portfolio of internationally recognized clients such as Nickelodeon, Cirque du Soleil, Day Zero, CID Presents (featuring concerts by Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds and Luke Bryan), Xcaret, and a variety of hotels across the Caribbean - Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic including Karisma,Sandos, Palmaia, Iberostar, Palladium, Vidanta, Princess, El Cid, and Barcelo.

In 2024, RADICAL DESIGN made its Canadian debut at Ottawa's Day of the Dead Festival, showcasing two 3-meter ’Calaveritas’ Sculptures, a ‘Calaverita’ parade mobile sculpture, and the Exhibition Roots and Traditions at Gallery 55. In 2025, we brought an   ‘Experiencia Cultural’ Booth  to the capital - featuring the traditional Mexican fair game, 'Juego de Canicas' and our beloved Chili Mascot Costume - appearing at the Cinco de Mayo Festival, Festival Latino, Atlético Ottawa's Fan Fest, and the 215th Mexican Independence celebration.  RADICAL DESIGN is proud to bring a little piece of Mexican culture to Canada!

As part of our Canadian expansion, RADICAL DESIGN is thrilled to take our creativity into the digital world. We are proud to collaborate on set design and props fabrication for Just Dustin, one of YouTube's innovative creators with a channel of over 5.75 million subscribers.

  • Raul Estudillo Alvarado (RINO)

    CO-FOUNDER / ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

    Raul Estudillo Alvarado, known in the artistic world simply as Rino, is an international artist who originates from Mexico and currently resides in Canada. Although graduated as an Industrial Engineer, Rino has dedicated his entire professional life to the visual arts, set design, and entertainment.

    Rino is internationally renowned for the two monumental-size wooden sculptures he produced in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The first sculpture, titled "Goddess AïA", was produced at the hotel Palmaïa - The House of AïA in 2020 and represents a majestic 15-meter anthropomorphic Deity emerging from the water. The second sculpture, titled “Xi'Paal Kaab” (Bee Child) was created for the hotel Sandos Caracol in 2023 and is a contemporary artistic composition of a mystical 8-meter Alux character inspired by Mayan culture and mythology.

    For the realization of his artworks, Rino uses various techniques that include Mexican popular art "cartoneria" (papier-maché, cardboard, and paste), modeling, carpentry, welding, tridimensional sponge figures, and makeup F/X. Rino handles diverse materials including recycled materials (wood, cardboard, newspaper), fiberglass, polyurethane foam resin, and metal.

  • Nathalie Gelineau

    CO-FOUNDER / DIRECTOR GENERAL

    Nathalie Gelineau is a proud Canadian who immersed herself in the vibrant culture of the Mexican Caribbean for nearly 20 years. With extensive experience in marketing, communications, media relations, advertising, sales, partnership programs, fundraising, and events management, Nathalie founded the agency Starfish Marketing Strategies in Playa del Carmen, Mexico in 2003, offering tourism related marketing services. Prior to moving to Mexico, she worked as Account Director for Lufthansa and in marketing and fundraising in various arts organizations: National Theatre School of Canada, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Centaur Theatre, and Opera Lyra Ottawa.

    As a trilingual senior director and entrepreneur, Nathalie seamlessly blends her love for the arts and entertainment with her extensive knowledge of marketing and communications. This unique combination of skills and passions inspired her to co-found RADICAL DESIGN, where she continues to innovate and inspire.
